The ‘ WHY ‘ behind my blog

Hey guys!!! It’s KK! In this post I will be talking about the ‘WHY’ behind my blog. I will be answering a question that I have been actually asking myself lately. So let’s get started!

It was actually my mum that gave me the idea of starting a blog. She showed me a girl that was roughly my age, who had a blog and she really seemed to enjoy what she did.( I don’t actually rember who the girl was!) Ever since I was 3, I loved telling stories. Funny enough, I learnt to read much later than others, but that because I used to look at the pictures in the book and make my own story up. After, I would decide that my story was definitely way better! Hey, that proves I have always been stubborn! 🙂 My mum hoped that if I saw her read often , I would read myself- clever mum – it worked.

When I was in Year 1, I wrote a story that was 2 pages long. I spoke to my teacher a few years later and she told me it was amazing for a 6 year old child. When I was 6, I didn’t think it was a big deal, but now I am very proud of my 6 year old self.

Anyway, back to the point. I wanted to improve my writing skills even more, therefore I agreed to having a blog. I started my blog when I was in Year 4. I wanted to reach at least 300 hits by 2018. It is now 2019 and and I have nearly reached 1000 hits!!!! I am SO happy that I can’t even explain. I just wanted to thank all of the people that take a few minutes out of their day to read my posts. As I have mentioned before, I am now in Year 6. I am hoping that my writing skills have improved, but I suppose that is up to you! Feel free to contact me or comment what you think about my blog. I would really appreciate it!!!

I’m sorry that this post is so short however, the reason that I wanted to start a blog is pretty clear to me: I wanted to improve my writing skills. I did not expect so many people to visit my blog.

My day at bett (met someone special)

Hey guys!! It’s KK! I can’t believe that it is already February. Today, I am going to talk about an event I went to in January. On 26th January, my mum and I went to bett. Bett is a tech event that is held annually.This year, it was held at Excel. I suppose it is a kind of technology VidCon(without the you tubers). Bett is an event about tech in EDUCATION. Anyway, my mum and I went as she knew someone that had a stall there. She also booked us a coding masterclass. I definitely had a lot of fun and I did learn quite a few things.

 I think my favourite stall in bett was the Microsoft AI juice bar. How it worked was that there was a screen with a camera on top and images would come up onto the screen. I think it would monitor your facial expressions and see what juice you were. I was a visionary so I got the visionary juice. The scariest thing it that it was apple, mint and elderflower which is my favourite drink!!! My mum was a creator and she got a mango drink which she loves as well!

 To put the cherry on top of the cake, I met Ruth Peacey, who is a wildlife and conservative producer, director and filmmaker that loves penguins. She has worked with David Attenborough before!!! 😯 I asked her a few questions and she told me she was going to Antarctica and South Georgia to look at penguins. The reason Ruth was there, is because her and many other awesome people are on a website called Liketobe. To summarise things, I had a great time at bett and will certainly try to get tickets again next year. 

 

 I would also like to add that I am on half term and I am SO happy I don’t have to go to school.

Did you miss me?

Hey guys!! It’s KK! I’m back! It has been so long since I have posted on my blog. As you would have already realised, I have changed the theme of my blog. I thought it needed an update. I am now 11 years old and am in Year 6. If you live in the UK, you would know that in may, Year 6 do their SATs. They are tests you take to see how much you have learned and tell your new secondary school where you are at. This means that I will be extremely busy.

 Oh! I also forgot to say Happy New Year! 🥳 Welcome to 2019! One of my New Years resolutions was to post on my blog more often. One thing I have been doing is posting a bit more on my instagram. If you would like to check it out its @kreativekenza or if you don’t have an account there should be a button either on the side of my posts or at the very bottom.( it depends on what device you are on ). There is also a widget for my Pinterest. If you look at my instagram feed, you wold see that I have started a bullet journal. It is a journal the you draw and write in. You can be very kreative ( see what I did there ) and you may have a monthly theme . For January, I decided to go with fireworks. I get my inspiration from a YouTuber called Amandarachlee. Her videos are really awesome you should go check them out.

If you read my last post, you would have seen that I had started my Five weeks of food… and I didn’t finish it. It’s was my second attempt and yet again I failed.🙁 Anyway, I won’t be attempting that again but if you have any other ideas let me know by commenting or contacting me. If this post is dragging on I’m sorry.

Also, I would like to mention is that I have reached over 900 hits!! I would literally scream if I get 1000 hits. It really cool to see that loads of people from the world have checked out my blog. That means that I have a diverse, multi-cultural audience.

Another thing, is that this year I have been elected for school council. I am one of three people from my class. Every Friday, have a meeting with the rest of school council from the other years and we discuss the thing on our agenda. This is my second time being school council. I was elected in Year 4. Since we are on the topic of school, I thought I should mention that we have already been on our annual theatre trip. From Year 3 upwards, our school goes to the Royal Theatre in Stratford to watch a pantomime. This year, we watched a modern retelling of Sleeping beauty. It was kind of bittersweet for me as it will be my last pantomime with my class. I will not write everything that happened in the pantomime ,however I will consider doing that for my next post.

Well I think that I have written enough for today. It was really nice to sit down once again and type up my post.

1st Week of Food

Hey guys! What’s up, it’s KK. Welcome to 5 Weeks of Food! I am so happy that I am finally doing this for you! You might remember me saying in my last post that I would try to do food from around the world, however I thought it would be great to start the event with a simple British classic… strawberries and cream! Some people might think that its boring and that I could’ve come up with something better. Well if that’s what’s going on in your head right now, go and find another recipe to read! 😊 Instead of using double cream, I will whisk it to turn it into whip cream. Also, I will be adding melted chocolate. You don’t have to use whip cream or chocolate but that’s what I’m going to do! Without further delay, let’s get into it!

You will need a:

. Small bowl

. Spoon/ spatula

. Sauce pan

. Serving bowl

. Sieve (optional)

Ingredients:

. Whip cream

. Strawberries

. Dark chocolate

. Butter

. Icing sugar (optional)

 

Method:

  1. If you are making whip cream from scratch, pour some double cream into a bowl. Whisk until fluffy and light!

TIP: Make sure it has no lumps!

  1. To melt the dark chocolate, fill a saucepan half way with water and put it on the hob.
  2. Place a small bowl on top filled with pieces of chocolate.
  3. Stir the chocolate while it melts. After, add a little chunk of butter and let it melt with the chocolate.
  4. To get the melted chocolate at a nice consistency, slowly pour a bit of leftover double cream into the bowl.
  5. Now stir!
  6. Pour the whip cream into a bowl and place the strawberries inside or around it. Next, drizzle the chocolate on top.
  7. If you would like to, sprinkle some icing sugar on top with a sieve.
  8. Enjoy!!! 😊

Chatty Post

Hey guys! What’s up, it’s KK. OK, before we start I would just like to ask everyone if they are in a royal mood! As you would probably know, (if you don’t where have you been!) Prince Harry and Meghan, who is now the duchess of Sussex, married! Anyway, enough with that, lets get into the post!

Today, I won’t really be talking about a specific thing, so I guess I’ll just chat. Mmmh…let me see. Oh yeah! A few days ago, I came home from school to see a pair of pigeons had made a nest and laid an egg! About two days after, my parents noticed that it had laid a second one. Well, that’s it really for the bird talk but I will put a photo down at the end of the post.

Next, I would like to talk about the upcoming event… 5 Weeks of Food! It will be happening in a few days depending on when I post this. Basically, what will happen is that every week for 5 weeks I will post a recipe. As I would like to keep it interesting, I will DEFIANTELY try to give a range of recipes from around the world; not just a specific continent or country! 😊 I have already written about the event in a previous post down below, so if you want more information check it out!

Also, one last thing, you may have realised that lately I have been writing a P.S. and maybe giving a shout out. I have now decided to always leave a P.S. or a shout out to anyone who follows me or comments. I am sure right now you are wondering why I am doing this. Well, it really is just another way for me to thank you for helping me out on the way and for almost 800 hits! 😊

Exciting Re-announcement

Hey guys! What’s up it’s, KK. As, you can see by the title of this post, today I am going to announce something VERY exciting, however I have already announced this. Like I promised in my last post, I will be redoing 5 weeks of food. Basically, how it will work is for 5 weeks (every Wednesday) I will write a recipe for food whether it’s a meal, a dessert or a snack! I’m guessing a lot of you guys who are reading this are wondering ` why is she doing this? ` well the reason is that I know there are a lot of foodies out there and it would be a great hit!

So now for the details. 5 Weeks of Food will take place from 30th May- 27th June. If you would like to suggest anything, just go to my contacts page and fill out the form. But remember, don’t tell me how to make it since I will look it up. I hope this post wasn’t too boring and keep in mind to check my blog to see if your ideas were used!

I’m Back!

Hey guys! What’s up, it’s KK. I’M BAAAAAAACK!!!!!! It’s been nearly a year yes, I know. I’ve had a break as lots of stressful things have been happening in my life. Today’s post won’t be an INCREDIBLY LONG one, however I will give you a small recap of everything that’s happened.

Ok, first things first. If you have seen my updated tagline and About Me page, you may have realised that I am know 10! My birthday is in November and I had a bowling birthday party with my friends. I had so much fun and had TWO cakes.

Next, like most kids, I’m on spring break. Despite the fact that I love school, I’m so happy I get to stay at home. Also, it gives me the opportunity to catch up on all the blogging I have missed out on and this holiday I will post at least twice.

Another thing that I haven’t told you about (in fact I haven’t really told anyone), is that I am thinking to change my blog layout. It may become a photo blog BUT, I will still post some chatty posts, so don’t you guys worry. As you guys may know, I love photography, however I don’t have a camera of my own, therefore I would use my mum’s.

You might remember how I said I was going to be doing 5 weeks of food. I feel like it would be a hit, so I am going to postpone it for in a few months. In a few weeks, I will announce when I will be doing it, so keep updated.

Last of all, I know people already know this, but IT’S SPRING!!! It became spring on March 22nd, however here in London, it’s not as cold as winter but it’s chilly.
