Social Media: How has it changed the way we live?

Hey guys! It’s KK! So today I am going to be talking about social media. Lots of people around the world use it. As you know, a form of social media can be in apps. The most popular ones are Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook , Snapchat and TikTok. Of course, there are many more. In my opinion, I think nowadays, people use social media a lot and I think we almost rely on it. So obviously, it has changed the world. But how much ?…

All social media apps have an age restriction. Some of them are higher than others. If you are under age and you have these apps it may be classified as a crime. If you look thoroughly through my website, you will see the Pinterest and Instagram icons. I am under age to have these apps, however they are managed by my mum. A large amount of kids have social media accounts. Do the companies or police do anything about it? NO! I think it is okay for children to have these apps as long as the companies and their parents monitor them.

Just like most things, there are pros and cons to social media. Nowadays, it is much easier to connect with friends, family and colleagues. WhatsApp allows you to text or call contacts for free and Facebook lets you connect with people like many other apps. Other social media apps give you the chance to showcase your work and you passions. On Instagram, you can post photos, have stories that last for 24 hours and also send direct messages. Social media also gives lots of opportunities, such as brands can reaching out to you. LinkedIn can help you find a job or let you speak to colleagues.

However, behind the perfection, there is a dark side to it all. Nowadays, teenagers specifically have a larger amount of mental health problems than ever before. A few posts have been found on Instagram promoting self harm and suicide. This needs to stop NOW! The apps should monitor the posts more often and deal with the situation. If you have seen my Instagram, you would know that I like makeup and beauty, therefore I follow a lot of beauty influencers. It almost seems as if there is a way you should look; there is a set image. People should realise that they are beautiful the way they are but you have the right to do whatever you want with yourself. You do you boo!!!

There is one more thing I have thought about. Do we really need it? In fact, I personally use social media often. I text my friends and family, post on my stories and more. I think it is very useful, however I CERTAINLY believe that people around the world could use it less. Why not have face to face conversations?

So that’s it for today guys. This was a different kind if post and it was quite lengthly. This was based on my own opinion so please don’t be offended or upset by anything I have said. What do you think about social media? Comment or contact me with your thoughts on my contact page.

AU REVOIR!

My day at bett (met someone special)

Hey guys!! It’s KK! I can’t believe that it is already February. Today, I am going to talk about an event I went to in January. On 26th January, my mum and I went to bett. Bett is a tech event that is held annually. This year, it was held at Excel. I suppose it is a kind of technology VidCon(without the you tubers). Bett is an event about tech in EDUCATION. Anyway, my mum and I went as she knew someone that had a stall there. She also booked us a coding masterclass. I definitely had a lot of fun and I did learn quite a few things.

I think my favourite stall in bett was the Microsoft AI juice bar. How it worked was that there was a screen with a camera on top and images would come up onto the screen. I think it would monitor your facial expressions and see what juice you were. I was a visionary so I got the visionary juice. The scariest thing it that it was apple, mint and elderflower which is my favourite drink!!! My mum was a creator and she got a mango drink which she loves as well!

To put the cherry on top of the cake, I met Ruth Peacey, who is a wildlife and conservative producer, director and filmmaker that loves penguins. She has worked with David Attenborough before!!! 😯 I asked her a few questions and she told me she was going to Antarctica and South Georgia to look at penguins. The reason Ruth was there, is because her and many other awesome people are on a website called Liketobe. To summarise things, I had a great time at bett and will certainly try to get tickets again next year.

I would also like to add that I am on half term and I am SO happy I don’t have to go to school.

So that’s it for today! AU REVOIR

P.S. Yesterday it was random act of kindness day and I had no idea! Did you?

Talk about holidays

Hi guys! What’s up? I AM FINALLY DOING ANOTHER BLOG POST!!! The reason I haven’t done one in so long is that, I haven’t had any exciting things going on in my life.

I wrote in capitals because I am so angry at myself. I have realised that even if I don’t have anything exciting going on, I can still talk to you lot! All this time, I could have shown you how to make a Kreative Project or just say HI!

Anyway, enough of the shouting. I haven’t dragged myself to my laptop and made my poor fingers work SO hard and press the keys to MOAN! Certainly not! I am here to be happy and talk.

You know how I said I haven’t had anything exiting going on? Well something exciting FINALLY happened! YAAAAAAAAAY! 😊

Once I tell you guys what happened, you’re going to think that I’m crazy that I haven’t mentioned this earlier on in the week and I am truly sorry.

From the 4th of April to the 13th I was in the SOUTH of FRANCE

Another reason I haven’t written on my blog about France, is that I was enjoying the countryside and also was seeing my family and spending days with them.

In case you were wondering which family I have there, I have family from my mum’s side. My mum and I go there once every year mainly to see my grandparents. I call them Mamy and Papy.

So now that I have told you the main reason I went there, I’m going to tell you a bit about what I did one day with my aunty and uncle!

First of all, they took my mum and I to a restaurant. We all ordered burgers, except my uncle, who ordered a sort of a piece of raw meat, with raw egg and some salad. I have absolutely no idea how he could eat raw meat and egg, but then again we all have different tastes. 😊

Moving on to the second thing I did on my day out with my aunty and uncle!

Sadly, I will not tell you everything we did, as it was such an active day.

Later in the day, we went to a small restaurant called Le Petit Jardin, which in English Means, The Small Garden. We ate DELICIOUS desserts, which filled up our stomachs! I ordered a crepe covered in Nutella, my mum took the same with a sort of pink whip cream and my uncle and aunty both took a big shell with some ice cream, fruit and the pink whip cream.

Well this, I’m afraid is about it I’m going to tell you about my day but I want you to all know that I had a great time in France and had a lovely Easter holiday and that I hope you had a great one too! 😊

So that’s it for today! AUREVOIR!

P.S. I Hope you all join me in wishing Claire (my teacher assistant) a very happy 21st birthday, as it was hers yesterday!
