Happy International Women’s Day!!!

Hey guys!!! It’s KK! Oh my goodness! You guys I have reached 1000 hits!!!! I am so grateful for everyone who has read my blog. If you follow me on instagram ( my account is called @kreativekenza ), you might have seen my story where I am literally losing it.

I can’t believe that it is already March 2019. Doesn’t anybody else feel like this year is going to fast? If you didn’t know, on the 8th of March (which is today) is International Women’s Day. If you know me well or are friends with me, you would know that I’m all for feminism and girl power. In fact , ever since I was little, my mum has called me a little feminist! 😊 To honour all those amazing and powerful women and girls out there, today I will be talking about some of my female role models and women I look up to and I admire. These will be in no particular order, just in the order I type them up. So let’s get started!

My mum:

I feel like every mum should be their child’s role model, especially if they have a daughter. First of all, your mum went through labour and gave birth to you. It is amazing how a woman’s body is most of the time able to cope with that. And I know that not everyone is raised by their mother but I believe that mothers are one of the strongest of people. I think – actually I KNOW- that my mum is a strong and powerful woman. After she gave birth to me, she was diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is an illness that affects all of your body. She also has other illnesses including fibromyalgia and Asthma. She is a real female warrior, who has been through a lot and stood strong every time. I love you mum 😘

Michelle Obama :

Michelle Obama is another of my role models as she has inspired lots of women and girls all around the world. She was is also the first black First Lady. She is an incredible woman who really shows woman empowerment. She also is also an author who has written a few books. Michelle Obama certainly deserves to be in this list.

Ada Lovelace:

Ada Lovelace was a mathematician and also the first computer programmer. She worked with Charles Babbage on his  invention; The Analytical Engine. She wrote the first sort of code and inspired Alan Turing when he made the modern computer in the 1940’s. Ada Lovelace is also know as the mother of computing.

Rosa Parks:

Rosa Parks is a female and black icon who stood up for her rights and changed the way the world lived. In 1955, Rosa Parks, who was a seamstress at the time, refused to give up her seat to a white man in the bus. During the 1940’sand 1950’s, there was a thing called segregation where white and coloured people didn’t really live side by side. In America, black people would use the back door of the bus and stand in the back. There were seats for white citizens and black citizens.  Once there were no seats left, a seated black person would have to give their seat up to a white person. Rosa refused to do so and was arrested. Because of her, later the law was raised and there wasn’t different seats for different races. I think everyone can learn from Parks and should remember that you should stand up for you rights.

Emily Pankhurst:

Emily Pankhurst was a suffragette. Suffragettes were woman in Britain who fought for the right of women in order to let them vote. Of course, society didn’t like them and they often went to prison for their protests. In 1903, Emily founded the Women’s Social and Political Union. The WSPU members were the first woman labelled as ‘suffragettes’. In 1918, women had the right to be elected into parliament. 10 years later, women over the age of 21 were allowed to vote. Just like Parks, Pankhurst fought for her rights.

And finally my grandma.

My grandma is definitely a warrior. Before she adopted my mum and auntie, she had fostered many other children. She also got breast cancer in her 30’s and lived through World War II!! Recently, she has had a few heart problems however she is still going strong. And believe it it not, she is 87!!! She is an amazing woman and grandma and I love her to bits. ❤️

That is my list finished. I obviously wish I could mention the others in my never ending list, but I can’t go on typing forever. I may consider doing a few more posts on amazing woman in the past and present. Would you like to have a series on that? Make sure to contact me or to comment what you think. I hope you liked today’s post and that you didn’t find it too long.

So that’s it for today!! AU REVOIR

P.S these are Mimosa flowers. An amazing woman I know (called Gabriella) gave me them as they harepresent International Women’s Day. Thank you Gabriella!!

My day at bett (met someone special)

Hey guys!! It’s KK! I can’t believe that it is already February. Today, I am going to talk about an event I went to in January. On 26th January, my mum and I went to bett. Bett is a tech event that is held annually. This year, it was held at Excel. I suppose it is a kind of technology VidCon(without the you tubers). Bett is an event about tech in EDUCATION. Anyway, my mum and I went as she knew someone that had a stall there. She also booked us a coding masterclass. I definitely had a lot of fun and I did learn quite a few things.

I think my favourite stall in bett was the Microsoft AI juice bar. How it worked was that there was a screen with a camera on top and images would come up onto the screen. I think it would monitor your facial expressions and see what juice you were. I was a visionary so I got the visionary juice. The scariest thing it that it was apple, mint and elderflower which is my favourite drink!!! My mum was a creator and she got a mango drink which she loves as well!

To put the cherry on top of the cake, I met Ruth Peacey, who is a wildlife and conservative producer, director and filmmaker that loves penguins. She has worked with David Attenborough before!!! 😯 I asked her a few questions and she told me she was going to Antarctica and South Georgia to look at penguins. The reason Ruth was there, is because her and many other awesome people are on a website called Liketobe. To summarise things, I had a great time at bett and will certainly try to get tickets again next year.

I would also like to add that I am on half term and I am SO happy I don’t have to go to school.

So that’s it for today! AU REVOIR

P.S. Yesterday it was random act of kindness day and I had no idea! Did you?

Did you miss me?

Hey guys!! It’s KK! I’m back! It has been so long since I have posted on my blog. As you would have already realised, I have changed the theme of my blog. I thought it needed an update. I am now 11 years old and am in Year 6. If you live in the UK, you would know that in may, Year 6 do their SATs. They are tests you take to see how much you have learned and tell your new secondary school where you are at. This means that I will be extremely busy.

Oh! I also forgot to say Happy New Year! 🥳 Welcome to 2019! One of my New Years resolutions was to post on my blog more often. One thing I have been doing is posting a bit more on my instagram. If you would like to check it out its @kreativekenza or if you don’t have an account there should be a button either on the side of my posts or at the very bottom.( it depends on what device you are on ). There is also a widget for my Pinterest. If you look at my instagram feed, you wold see that I have started a bullet journal. It is a journal the you draw and write in. You can be very kreative ( see what I did there ) and you may have a monthly theme . For January, I decided to go with fireworks. I get my inspiration from a YouTuber called Amandarachlee. Her videos are really awesome you should go check them out.

If you read my last post, you would have seen that I had started my Five weeks of food… and I didn’t finish it. It’s was my second attempt and yet again I failed.🙁 Anyway, I won’t be attempting that again but if you have any other ideas let me know by commenting or contacting me. If this post is dragging on I’m sorry.

Also, I would like to mention is that I have reached over 900 hits!! I would literally scream if I get 1000 hits. It really cool to see that loads of people from the world have checked out my blog. That means that I have a diverse, multi-cultural audience.

Another thing, is that this year I have been elected for school council. I am one of three people from my class. Every Friday, have a meeting with the rest of school council from the other years and we discuss the thing on our agenda. This is my second time being school council. I was elected in Year 4. Since we are on the topic of school, I thought I should mention that we have already been on our annual theatre trip. From Year 3 upwards, our school goes to the Royal Theatre in Stratford to watch a pantomime. This year, we watched a modern retelling of Sleeping beauty. It was kind of bittersweet for me as it will be my last pantomime with my class. I will not write everything that happened in the pantomime ,however I will consider doing that for my next post.

Well I think that I have written enough for today. It was really nice to sit down once again and type up my post.

So that’s it for today! AU REVOIR

P.S. Shout out to my friend Eliza who encouraged me to write a new post.

1st Week of Food

Hey guys! What’s up, it’s KK. Welcome to 5 Weeks of Food! I am so happy that I am finally doing this for you! You might remember me saying in my last post that I would try to do food from around the world, however I thought it would be great to start the event with a simple British classic… strawberries and cream! Some people might think that its boring and that I could’ve come up with something better. Well if that’s what’s going on in your head right now, go and find another recipe to read! 😊 Instead of using double cream, I will whisk it to turn it into whip cream. Also, I will be adding melted chocolate. You don’t have to use whip cream or chocolate but that’s what I’m going to do! Without further delay, let’s get into it!

You will need a:

. Small bowl

. Spoon/ spatula

. Sauce pan

. Serving bowl

. Sieve (optional)

Ingredients:

. Whip cream

. Strawberries

. Dark chocolate

. Butter

. Icing sugar (optional)

Method:

  1. If you are making whip cream from scratch, pour some double cream into a bowl. Whisk until fluffy and light!

TIP: Make sure it has no lumps!

  1. To melt the dark chocolate, fill a saucepan half way with water and put it on the hob.
  2. Place a small bowl on top filled with pieces of chocolate.
  3. Stir the chocolate while it melts. After, add a little chunk of butter and let it melt with the chocolate.
  4. To get the melted chocolate at a nice consistency, slowly pour a bit of leftover double cream into the bowl.
  5. Now stir!
  6. Pour the whip cream into a bowl and place the strawberries inside or around it. Next, drizzle the chocolate on top.
  7. If you would like to, sprinkle some icing sugar on top with a sieve.
  8. Enjoy!!! 😊

I hope you enjoyed this classic recipe and that it wasn’t too boring!

So that’s it for today!  AU REVOIR

Chatty Post

Hey guys! What’s up, it’s KK. OK, before we start I would just like to ask everyone if they are in a royal mood! As you would probably know, (if you don’t where have you been!) Prince Harry and Meghan, who is now the duchess of Sussex, married! Anyway, enough with that, lets get into the post!

Today, I won’t really be talking about a specific thing, so I guess I’ll just chat. Mmmh…let me see. Oh yeah! A few days ago, I came home from school to see a pair of pigeons had made a nest and laid an egg! About two days after, my parents noticed that it had laid a second one. Well, that’s it really for the bird talk but I will put a photo down at the end of the post.

Next, I would like to talk about the upcoming event… 5 Weeks of Food! It will be happening in a few days depending on when I post this. Basically, what will happen is that every week for 5 weeks I will post a recipe. As I would like to keep it interesting, I will DEFIANTELY try to give a range of recipes from around the world; not just a specific continent or country! 😊 I have already written about the event in a previous post down below, so if you want more information check it out!

Also, one last thing, you may have realised that lately I have been writing a P.S. and maybe giving a shout out. I have now decided to always leave a P.S. or a shout out to anyone who follows me or comments. I am sure right now you are wondering why I am doing this. Well, it really is just another way for me to thank you for helping me out on the way and for almost 800 hits! 😊

So that’s it for today! AU REVOIR!

P.S. Contact me or comment if you would like me to do anything else after 5 Weeks of Food, like making lots of Kreative Projects!

Also, Ramadan Mubarak to any Muslims out there! 😊

Talk about Summer

Hi guys! What’s up? The first thing I want to say is… IT’S SUMMER!!!!!!! Ok; now is the time when everybody is in flip flops and are basking in the sun. I don’t mind doing that, I mean I LOVE wearing flip flops and I think it’s relaxing to go out in the sun. But there’s an issue for me… ☹

Lately, whenever I’ve been going out in the warming sun my skin begins to get EXTREMELY itchy because of my Eczema. For those of you out there who do not know what it is, it’s a skin illness and you have dry skin and is always itchy. Sometimes it can be major or it’s not so much of a big deal. And here’s another reason. I do not tolerate heat well, for me even London is ABSOLUTELY scorching!!! I always feel fainty! And last of all … (this may break most of people’s hearts who are reading this so I am going to bring it easy on you)… I HATE SUMMER!!!!!!!!! Also, I have a perfectly good reason to hate it, in summer I am more, sick than I am in winter.

Any way enough complaining about summer! Let’s go onto the main two reasons I chose to talk to you today. As a lot of you may know, this month for Muslims it is Ramadan. It is the month of fasting. Fasting is when you do not drink or eat from sunrise to sundown. As I am a child I am no obliged to do it, however I decide to do some of the day. Well, that’s all you need to know!

The second thing I want to talk to you about is McDonald’s! I am sure this subject will get you all jumping up on your feet. On Thursday, my mum and I were in Greenwich as we were on our way to my guitar lesson. There is a McDonald’s there and it was an INCREDIBLY hot day, therefore we decided to buy a Raspberry Ripple Ice Cooler. It was SCRUMPTIOUS! A couple days after, we realised we could make our own ice cooler! Here is a small recipe:

Ingredients:

–         Vanilla ice cream

–         Ice cubes

–         A berry flavoured squash or syrup

Method:

Put the ice cream in with the ice. Blend for a bit. Pour the squash or syrup into the blender and carry on blending. Blend until it is like a sort of liquid. Pour into a glass and enjoy! 😊

So that’s it for today! AU REVOIR!!!

P.S  I want you to say happy birthday to three people in my class who are Lewis, Jayvan  and Anthony whose  all birthdays were recent! 😊

My trip to the theatre

Hi guys! What’s up? I am as sorry as I could have ever been that I have not done a post for quite a long time, even when I have an exciting post to do about my trip to the Royal Theatre in Stratford with my school! 😦 As it was a long time, I will tell you about my week.

Firstly, I will tell you about my trip to the theatre. I went to watch Sinbad the Sailor. It was a pantomime. In most of them, the story is changed. This show was no different to the others. They had made a whole story up that included Sinbad, Sinbada (his elder sister), a princess, a sultan, the evil Prince Nauseous, a monkey called Funky Monkey and his parents, a genie, a 9 headed monster and some drunken pirates.

I will tell you a short summary of the play. There was once a great adventurer named Sinbad. He travelled with his sister Sinbada and Funky Monkey. One day, they all went to the sultan’s and the Princess’s palace. The two royals were relieved to see Sinbad and his friends (Sinbada and Funky Monkey), as they had heard that they had drowned at sea and died. With the sultan’s permission he announced that he will retire from his adventures and asked to marry the Princess.

However, there was a problem… Prince Nauseous was already marrying her! To settle the matter, the royals decided that Sinbad and the prince should have a race. They should race to an island and search for a buried casket that belonged to the dead queen (the sultan’s wife) whoever found it and returned home with it would marry the princess. During the show, it was revealed to us that Sinbad was a scaredy cat and that he did not go on the adventures but Sinbada and Funky Monkey did! People thought that Sinbad went on the adventures as he told the story.

On the journey, they came across many hazards. There were poisonous bananas, a 9 headed monster, a storm and a genie working for the prince, however she helped Sinbad and his friends.

The story is far too long, therefore, I can not write it all. At the end of the story Prince nauseous gave the casket to Sinbad so he could marry the princess. They got married and in the wedding, they had a dance called the Funky Monkey where we could all join in as well! 🙂 I had so much fun at the pantomime, we even got ice cream at the break! But that was not my favourite part… a teacher from our school was chosen from the crowd to go up on stage and dance! He even had his own solo! It was HILARIOUS!!!

Also, to finish of I am over the moon to announce that I have got a new laptop!!! 🙂 . I gave some of my saving money and my parents paid the rest.

OH! I forgot. I started karate classes this week, but that can wait until next week.

So that’s it for today, AUREVOIR!
